Local shuttler Swadhin Gouda emerged champion in the under-19 boys singles category, defeating citymate Yuva Prithivraj in the final of the K1 Shuttler Open Badminton Tournament, which concluded here at Unit-1 Indoor Hall today.
Railway duo S Apparao and Korupolu Ravibabu won the men’s double title with win over local pair of Siba Prasad Das and Agni Rishi Roy in the summit clash. The above-40 veteran doubles crown went to Cuttack combination of Subhashis Sahu and Sanjay Kumar Mohanty. The four-day tournament was organised by K1 Shuttler.
RESULTS:
U-19 Boys Singles: Champion: Swadhin Gouda (Bhubaneswar). Runner-up: Yuva Prithivraj (Bhubaneswar).
Mens doubles: Champions: Sarikonda Apparao- Korupolu Ravibabu (Railway). Runners-up: Siba Prasad Das-Agni Rishi Roy (Bhubaneswar). Losing semifinalists: Rasmikanta Beura-Kiran Mouli (Railway),
Gyanchand-Manas Ranjan Rautroy (AG Bhubaneswar). Losing quarterfinalists: Sidharath Nayak-Sanjay Kumar Bishi (Jeypore), DSubhakanta Mohanty-Santosh Choudhury (Bhubaneswar), Soumen Sekhar Das-PRuthvik Kiran (Rourkela), Snehasish Panda-Ajit Kumar Mohanty (Bhubaneswar).
Veteran doubles: Champion: Subhashis Sahu-Sanjay Kumar Mohanty (Cuttack).Runners-up: Chandi P Das-D P Subudhi (Bhubaneswar).
